The work of the foundation
The Ryan’s Well foundation provides access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene education in the poorest regions of the world. We educate, motivate and inspire people to create the change they want to see in the world.
From boyhood dream to a global vision
In 2001, a 6-year old Canadian boy named Ryan Hreljac realized the impact that clean water can have on the wellness of people. He raised over $2,000 for a well at a primary school in East Africa by doing household chores and rallying his community. This small gesture was the start of a journey that would take him everywhere from Uganda to the Oprah Winfrey Show and speaking engagements around the world, improving the lives of hundreds of thousands in the process.
Today, the Ryan’s Well Foundation and its partners provide access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene education in the poorest regions of developing countries. But our vision of wellness is even bigger than that — every day we work to inspire people to share our passion and achieve real change in the world.
